I think these statements from Nintendo are way off-base. The reason I think this is becuase the Wii is not really after the same market as both 360 and the PS3. Sony is taking more of a future proof approach aimed at the HD customer and future HDTV buying customer. Wii is simply looking for the customer thats really wants to play fun games with a "family" type of experience.
Neither is wrong but it's all about what suits us "the gamer"
Eithe...
A update for any console will never increase sales UNLESS, positive word of mouth is spread to existing customers friends but that would not make a large increase to sales.
If anything it just keeps your current customers happy
I think it's just a weird question to ask because I'm sure Sony didn't release the update to sale more consoles in the first place
I know this E3 will be mostly about Halo 3 vs. Killzone 2 but I'm much more interested in finding more details and videos of Little Big Planet. The more I see of LBP the more I'm impressed by the game.
I hope E3 lives up to the hype which means all three companies NEED to have a HUGE showing.
The presssure is on and as far as I'm concerened this console race starts when this years E3 starts.
Me and my brother both missed out on the beta, this is one game we have both been looking forward to for a very longtime. I can't wait til it gets released I'm sure it will be a blast to play. Congrads to everyone who got in the beta GAME ON!
Thank you ^.^
Adriokor and Mr Playboy
for the kind comments, there may indeed be some hope for this site.
GAME ON
Oh and if you read his comment section you find a few nice points of interest like
720p 4xAA at 30fps is our stated aim
Release date is set by Sony… Its fairly soon and are working our butts off to make it as good as we can by that date. Hopefully various bugs and things like abrupt transitions and FPS wil...
Seriously is THIS NEWS? Since when has an update saved anything? Not that the PS3 needs saving, thus far PS3 is selling the same numbers both PS1 and PS2 did at this respective times in each consoles lives.
BD 1080p 24 Hz Output (HDMI)
Now if you are lucky enough to have a HDTV that supports 1080p24fps, you will be able to view Blu-ray discs the way they were intended. This is terrific news for PS3 owners and overall Sony has done a terrific job with their latest update. Probably makes the PS3 the best Blu Ray or HD DVD player on the market.
I apologize if it doesn't interest you............ Funny how when I was posting this I forseen a much different reaction from the "gamers" on this site.
Why is this article on N4G.com? It's just information on the Cell Chip from a developer blog, I don't see the reason to throw a tantrum over it. Especially when we have "NEWS" posted comparing Halo 3 and R:FOM.
I thought some gamers would be interested, I'm sorry if I was wrong maybe I should just stay away from this site.............
Your following statement is just not THE TRUTH:
"Resistence still hasn't hit 500k from last I checked. Thats pitiful and "ONLY" fanboys will hype that game. It was a dissappointment no matter how you spin it."
Please at least atempt to try and find the facts before you TRY and educate the educated

According to VGcharts.org ...
It's amzing how much info is STILL coming out regarding the Cell Chip, it's just amazing technology
For the editing, I have been away from the site for about 6 months don't worry I will get it right from now on ^.^ enjoy
So what's your point? You came here to post THAT comment? This is a news post about HAZE not about what YOU THINK the PS3 is/was or will be...........
to compare these two games. RFOM is a launch title with a much shorter development time and a much different artistic direction. Halo 3 is a multiplayer beta.
The real comparison will be Killzone 2 vs. Halo 3 and everyone knows it. Hopefully they don't become the two most overhyped games in video game history.
From what I have played of Halo 3 it looks like Halo 2 HD BUT it IS a beta gamers, 1 think is for sure it looks NOTHING like the E3 trailer but they still...
Bungie needs to go back to basics of what made the single player from Halo 1 great and really improve the multiplayer from Halo 2 and finally polish the graphics to deliever on the enormus hype the game has.
What is puzzling to me is how the game looks nothing graphiclly to the E3 trailer but yet there is little to no backlash (I.E. Motorstorm, Killzone2 ect ect) Seriously Halo 3 looks like Halo 2 HD.
Not that any of this matters because the game will sell HUGE...
If Sony uses the Next gen rumble I have no problems with it, but if it's just standard rumble (which I think is improbable) then I won't buy it.
I'm not in any way worried about battery life because the PS3 controller has a built in charger out of box, no add-on needed.
One interesting fact that some gamers have failed to point out about MS/360 price drop.
As we all know the 360 has a bit of a faliure rate that MS has addressed by extending the warrenties. Now I don't have actual numbers (as MS hasn't released any) but it does add to the cost of the 360 to fix/repair any consoles for free. That fact alone is enough to start to conclude that MS isn't exactly making a profit off each 360 sold and is probably still in the red.
Fu...
Didn't we already know this? It seems the developer wants to release after the hype of Halo 3 for 360 and before Killzone 2 for PS3.
I guess you can say it will be hard to earn cash in the FPS genre with 2 potential heavywieghts taking up all the hype. Let's just hope that both games can deliever.
You response is very opinionated and not exactly factual. I have a few things to point out from your post that are very telling of your objective:
1.) "Sony is dead last in the console battle globally and desperately needs to catch up." The key word "desperately" is really unwarrented based off the fact Sony is almost at the exact same numbers in sales they were in with both the PSone and PS2 so I highly doubt Sony is desperate especially being the PS3 isn't...
First off the comments in the newsstory are very very dissheartening and really goes to show that the maturity level of this site as a whole is really something to be laughed at.
My take on this technology is simply too much too late. Within a few months people will have this technology in the palm of their hands with apples Iphone. It's 2007 and and people are on the go. Why sit down at a coffee shop or bar and share pictures and videos, touch a screen in which other random peopl...
